Summary of Moderator Guidelines,
A. Any user can report a post to a moderator for review. All reports remain anonymous to the users.
B. The moderator can issue a warning and notify the poster of the situation with a suggestion of how to correct it immediately.
C. If the user does not comply, the moderator can close the topic (can still be read, but no more new posts can be made), issue another warning. The moderator can then decide to edit the post or prevent it from being viewed in the general forum. Some of these actions require further approval and all original posts and any actions are recorded for future reference.
D. 5 warnings result in an automatic review for banning from the site. 10 results in an automatic ban. A banned user can request reinstatement.
Ok, that was the official stuff posted by request. But basically it serves a dual purpose to protect both the users and the moderators. It takes a panel of moderators to approve the permanent removal of any posts from the general forum, and all removed original posts are only moved and stored (never actually ?deleted?). The moderators are not trying to modify the content of your posts?they?re just concerned with how it is written (no profanity, personal insults, racial or religious slurs, etc.). Also, modifying a post is a last resort used only after failed attempts to have the user reword their own messages. So help us keep this site on an even keel while still preserving our rights to freely express our opinions. Good luck to all. Disclaimer: The Site Administrators reserve the right to take any action it may see fit, including but not limited to, editing, banning or deleting, at their own discretion.
